STUDIO MELT - Annual Contemporary Jewellery Exhibition 2024

Introducing a NEW jewellery exhibition to be held at Studio Melt in 2024. This jewellery exhibition is a chance to make something new. For this first exhibition we are after contemporary STATEMENT jewellery made in any materials you would like to explore. It can be in the form of rings, earrings, necklaces, brooches, bracelets or other items of adornment.
The theme for 2024 is 'What are you trying to say?’.
In an age of information overload and exhausted attention spans, sometimes to cut through the white noise you will need something loud, brave and straightforward to communicate your intentions.

Please read carefully before submission:
Your submission must be NEW work made this year 2024.


ELIGIBILITY
Emerging and established artists and makers, not just makers currently represented by Studio Melt.

SIZE
Each piece of jewellery must be able to fit in our display cabinets with a height restriction of 30cm.

NUMBER OF PIECES
You can submit up to 5 pieces for consideration.

MEDIUM
The jewellery can be made from any metals or materials.

SUBMITTING

and images of your submission.

FEE
A non-refundable entry fee is $30.00 and is paid with your submission to cover administrative costs.

DEADLINE
Entries must be in by 5pm EDT 2 June 2024.

EXHIBITION
“What Are You Trying To Say' will be exhibited at the contemporary jewellery space Studio Melt. Studio Melt has two stores, one in Newcastle and one in Sydney. The exhibition will launch in Newcastle and then travel to Sydney.

DATES
Newcastle opening will be held on Friday the 26 July from 6pm - 8pm.
Sydney opening will be held on Friday the 16 August from 6pm – 8pm.
All works will be for sale during this period. Studio Melt takes a 40% commission on all exhibition sales.

NON CONSIDERATION
Successful submissions will be chosen by an exhibition panel, not the owner of Studio Melt.
The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence shall be entered into.

FREIGHT & DELIVERY
Selected works must be delivered to Studio Melt in Newcastle no later than Friday 12 July 2024.
Freight to and from Studio Melt and transit insurance are the responsibility of the entrant. Artists are responsible for ALL transport/postage costs including return transport/postage. Return postage MUST be included with work when it arrives at the Gallery or transport MUST be organised before end of exhibition (cheques or cash will NOT be accepted as postage).
Studio Melt will insure all works whilst on display and travelling between the two premises.
Studio Melt will at all times take due care and reasonable precautions in re-packing work using the materials provided at delivery and return via your chosen postal or collection method.
Works must be collected between Tuesday 3 to Friday 6 September 2024 if collecting in person from Sydney or Newcastle address.
